AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo is on the verge of a loan move to FC Bayern München as the Bavarian giants look to fill the gap left by the departure of Marcell Jansen to Hamburger SV.

'Improvement in quality'
The 32-year-old will link up with Bayern for the season, subject to a medical, with the option of making the move permanent at the end of the campaign. "Massimo Oddo is the type of player that can cover the whole of the right wing," said Bayern coach Jürgen Klinsmann. "He is a great improvement in quality for us due to his experience, and tactical and technical strength. We have had our eyes on him for a while and used our chance to sign him now." Capped 34 times by Italy, Oddo ends his second spell at Milan just 19 months after joining the Rossoneri from S.S. Lazio. He is a direct replacement for Jansen in the Bayern squad, after the youngster move to Hamburg for around €8m earlier this month.
