Benfica confirmed on Thursday that they have spoken to Sven-Göran Eriksson about a possible return to Lisbon.

Reports in England suggest the Swede will leave Manchester City FC because Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra is unhappy with the club's performances this season. Eriksson won the league three times and reached the finals of the European Champion Clubs' Cup (1990) and UEFA Cup (1983) during his two previous stints with Benfica.
