Euro trophies on display at the City Experience

09/05/2008 08:54
During the build up to the UEFA Cup final the City Museum & Tour will be welcoming the European Cup won by Liverpool in 2005 back to the museum.  The trophy, together with the actual European Cup Winners Cup, will be on display from Monday afternoon until the night of the UEFA Cup final.

The European Cup is the version of the trophy won outright by Liverpool in 2005 and has kindly been loaned by the Merseyside club for a limited period.  The ECWC is the actual trophy won by City in 1970 (beating Polish side Gornik Zabrze) and, for those with a serious interest in this year's UEFA Cup final, was also won by Rangers in 1972 when they defeated Russian side Moscow Dynamo.

As the stadium is currently being transformed into host venue for the 2008 UEFA Cup final and then will be hosting other events, the type of stadium tour available varies daily.  Between 10th May and 24th June, we will be operating a revised tour schedule. Typically tours will take place at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, & 16:00  (Mon – Sat) and 11:15, 12:45, & 14:30 (Sun/ Bank Hol).  Tours will be unable to visit certain areas of the stadium and this is likely to vary on a day to day basis, particularly as we draw closer to a specific event. Throughout this period, we will continue to give customers the best possible stadium tour.

During this time, reduced prices will be in operation for the Museum and Stadium Tour. Revised prices are:

Adult:    £7.50 (normally £9.50)
Children/Concession: £5.00 (normally £6.00)
Family Ticket:  £20.00 (normally £25.00)
Walk Of Pride:  Not available

On Wednesday 14th May we will be unable to perform stadium tours, but the museum will be available for Museum Only visits to allow visitors to see the two European trophies.  These visits will be at the discounted rate of £3 per individual (no concessions).

Anyone wishing to attend a stadium tour or to get more information, please telephone 0870 0621894 (Option 8).
